DEAR FRIEND AND NEIGHBORS:

The Members of the West Harrison Volunteer Fire Department are asking for your support in maintaining our Death Benefit Fund and supporting various other services that benefit OUR COMMUNITY. The Death Benefit Fund provides a beneficiary payment to a Firefighter's family upon his death.

As an all-volunteer fire department, we are on duty 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.  Our pager system enables us to respond to emergencies, even when we are out of town in adjacent communities.  We respond to over 100 emergencies annually involving structure fires, auto accidents, medical assists, water rescue operations, electrical and gas emergencies, and other important emergencies. Along with these fundamental responsibilities, we conduct fire prevention awareness training and we participate in numerous community activities.

All our members  are trained and certified in various aspects of fire fighting and rescue techniques through both Westchester County Fire Training Center and  during regularly scheduled in-house training and practice sessions.  This training is ongoing process throughout the year.

We receive no compensation for our efforts and the services we provide on a 100% voluntary basis.  Therefore our  Death Benefit Fund and other services are financed only through YOUR GENEROSITY.  This year we ask you to respond favorably to our needs, as so many of you have in the past.
